Novo dub
The novo dub is a kind of dub music born in France in middle of the 1990's. The music itself results of a mixing of dub roots, drum'n'bass and other breakbeat or hip-hop. On the music is often added samples like extracts of movies or traditional Jamaican riddims.
The main particularity of the novo dub that is the music is played by live band, with traditional instrument such as guitar, bass, drums where is added digital instruments such as computers, samplers, keyboards or turntables.
The pioneer of novo dub was the band High Tone.
Nowadays, as the stepper, the novo dub is a major style of dub music. Still lot of bands propose this kind of music, in France but also in some other countries such as Poland.
