Iration Steppas

In begingning, Iration Steppas is the sound system of Mark Iration. He created his sound in the year 1990 at Leeds after having followed a long time the others English sound systems like Jah Shaka and Jah Tubbys throughout the 80's. At the same time, Mark Iration build his own studio, High Rise, to produce new music. He realizes his 2 fist self production: “Scud Missile” and “High Rise Vibrations”. The innovation of Mark Iration was to use new technologies of the time, in particular the D.A.T. cassettes of which nobody used yet, and spices the dub music with new electronic sounds.

In the year 1993, Mark Iration meets Dennis Rootical. This one is bass player. It's new turning point for the sound system. The music producer by the duo became more steppers and powerfull, with a live heavyweight bassline. From this meeting, lot of live concerts and participations in many records-compilations follow. And 3 years after, it's a firts album under the name “Iration Steppas meet D.Rootical - Original dub D.A.T.”. Album with a special health warning: “You have been warned. This CD contains 15 Explicity Cantankerous, Blackheart, Unleashed, Years 3000 Dubs”. This album became a monument which cannot be ignored of the dub music.

Also, Mark Iration produce some sounds more inna dubstep and d'n'b style under the name Kitachi.
