Abassi All Stars

Abassi All Stars was created by Neil Perch, member and founder of Zion Train, in his new studio of Cologne in Germany. The aim of this project is to bring together musicians around Neil to achieve new dub-experiments.

The current participants are Neil Perch, Dave Hake (trumpet), Bigga (trombone) – these two are also known as the Zion Train brass section, and vocalists Fitta Warri (Jamaica), Junior Kigwa (Rwanda). Dubdadda (UK), Sis Sanae (Japan), Kenny Knots (UK), Empress Rasheda (UK), Earl 16 (Jamaica), and Luciano (Jamaica).

All of the above artists currently had 2004/05 Abassi All Stars record releases on the Deep Root label and were joined in 2006 by some new faces including Tippa Irie (UK), Beenie Man (Jamaica), Daddy Roots (Anguilla), Omar Perry (Jamaica) and Lua (Germany). 2007 will see new faces on the Abassi All stars roster alongside some old favourites.

dub Showcase

Abassi All Stars has realized two records: a debut album in year 2006, “Showcase” and a second, one year after, “Dub Showcase”. Both are published on the British label Universal Egg Records.

Abassi Hi Power

This project includes also a sound system: the Abassi Hi Power. With an equipment of 12 kilowatt, the Abassi Hi Power run mainly in Cologne and in Germany. The Sound System specializes in heavyweight dub sessions and features Mr Perch at the controls, Dubdadda, Fitta warri, King Bee and Ras Imo on the microphone.
