Video realised by Mill3k from the excellent French website Nizetch.fr with the help of Redi (who is also an good dub producer) for the English subtitle. Many thanks and big up to them and all the team of the website who make very good work since 3 years now.
The report presents an interview of the bands of the event: Stand High Patrol, who was also the organizer of the party, Liquid Wicked from Paris and the British singer/MC Murray Man. On the different interviews, artists present their opinions mainly about dubstep, dub and reggae but also about other kinds of music.

Antik dub Tings

By Laurent C. on Friday May 29, 2009, 11:29 - dub-releases

Dawa Hifi Antik TingsBrand new release of Dawa Hifi on the netlabel Original Dub Gathering (ODG). In fact, the tracks proposed by the sound-sytem are not so new. It's the reason of the "Antik" on release's title. It's a serie recorded between 2007 and 2008 but unpublished. It's true, the end of the 2000's are already so far.
So, stop it about bad joke. The well named "Antik Tings" is a net-release which presents 5 unpublished tracks mainly in a dub stepper style. This is the second release for the French sound-system, Dawe Hifi has published the last year a maxi called "Pelplum", another antik thing. Really, the members of the sound, Val’ Dawa and Benabass, missed their way of History's studies.

To speak about the release a bit. This one starts already inna very powerfull way by the track "Africa". The stepper influences of the members are showing as input. Well, well. And the production continues in this way, with a heavy and steady rythmic. By moment, some sound and tones are a bit less prehistoric and show what the electronic could bring to dub music. But, we are not in this time yet. We will see on the future.
At the whole, the content is like as curve. It starts strong as I wrote, continues a bit more chill at the middle before to do a new powerfull final attack. A final for wake-up everybody. So, a dub music as we like on dub-connection. With a heavy sound, lot of effect, a good bass line and steady skank. Thank to them to share their music with us.

The release is in free download on the website of the label ODG, the label of the band Ondubground... and, oh, miracle (hope they will don't take badly) the tracks are tagged and inna a better encoding than asual for this net-label.
It proposed on a ZIP-package of 40.6 Mb which contents tracks and covers (front and back).

tracklist
1. Africa
2. Friendly dub
3. Outernational Skanking
4. Smokee Riddim
5. Tanguy de la Boîte à Rythme

Welcome to dubistan

By Laurent C. on Tuesday May 19, 2009, 21:38 - dub-albums

A new album of Fedayi Pacha is always an event. 2 years after his "99 names of dub", the French producer from Saint-Etienne is coming back with a new release called "From the Oriental school of dub". An album published on the label Hammerbass as the previous of the producer.

Fedayi Pacha - From the Oriental school of dub

On the new production, we found back the great and unique sound of Fedayi Pacha. This stepper mixed with Eastern flavours which  is own. Sometime copied, never equaled. We feel really his Armenian origines on the music when we listen it.
The new thing for Fedayi Pacha and this album, it's the important numbers of guest. Actually, more of 15 additional musicians participate on this record: Alexander HACKE, founder and member of the German band Einstürzende Neubauten - Raphael TALIS, the heavy bass of Brain Damage - Philippe "Garbencito" TEBOUL, old member of the band Mano Negra and percussionist for the Radio Bemba of Manu Chao, etc, etc.

So, a very good production of 11 songs for waiting the summer which is coming so little by little.
